Cervical Cancer
Most Cervical Cancers start from the endometrium and are called Endometrial Cancer (mostly adenocarcinomas)
Symptoms:
1 - Heavy and prolonged bleeding for women over the age of 40.
2 - Lower abdominal pain and cramps in the pelvic area.
3 - Unusual bleeding with changes in the menstrual cycle, and may be in the form of vaginal bleeding with women after menopause.
Risk factors:
- Obesity
- High blood pressure
- Multiple vesicles in the ovary
- Early start of Menstrual Cycle and delayed menopause
- Women who are never pregnant and those who have infertility for any reason.
- Increase the level of (Estrogen) hormone by taking industrial estrogen for the treatment of menopause without progesterone.
- Exposure to radiation
- Taking (tamoxifen).
Diagnosis:
- Vaginal examination of the uterus in terms of size and shape and examination of neighboring organs.
- Surgery to enlarge the cervix and take a sample of any part which is doubtful and its form is abnormal.
- Test.
- Echo to vagina
Methods of Treatment:
- surgical intervention by the eradication of the uterus, fallopian tube, ovaries and neighboring lymph nodes.
- Chemotherapy
- Radiation therapy
- Hormonal therapy
- Biological treatment
- Directed treatment
